WHAT DOES OAK SQUARE ADVISORS DO WITH YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

WHY?  Financial companies choose how they share your personal information.  Federal law gives consumers the right to limit some but not all sharing.  Federal law also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information.  Please read this notice carefully to understand what we do.

What We Do?

How does Oak Square Advisors protect my personal information?

To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law.  These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.  We maintain safeguards that comply with federal standards to protect non-public personal information of our clients, including procedures to assure appropriate access to, and use of, information about our clients.

How does Oak Square Advisors collect my personal information?

We collect your personal information, for example, when you:

  • seek advice about your investments
  • enter into an investment advisory agreement (contract)
  • provide a government-issued ID (examples: Driver’s License or Passport)
  • give us your contact information
  • tell us about your investment or retirement portfolio

Why can’t I limit all sharing?

Federal law gives you the right to limit only:

  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for non-affiliates to market to you

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

Definitions

Affiliates:  Companies related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and non-financial companies.

Oak Square Advisors, Inc. affiliates include:  J.D.G. Associates, Inc., d/b/a Oak Square Insurance Services

Non-affiliates: Companies not related by common ownership or control.  They can be financial and non-financial companies.

  • Oak Square Advisors limits its sharing with non-affiliates to information necessary to run its everyday business.
  • Oak Square Advisors does not share personal information with non-affiliates to market to you.

Joint marketing:  A formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.

  • Oak Square Advisors does not have any joint marketing agreements with any non-affiliated financial companies.

Other Important Information

This notice will be provided to all clients upon their initial engagement with Oak Square Advisors; and on an annual basis thereafter.  This notice replaces all previous notices of our consumer policy, and may be amended at any time.  Oak Square Advisors will keep you informed of changes or amendments as required by law.  If at any time, Oak Square Advisors shares information then an “opt out clause” will be provided along with this notice to provide an option to limit sharing if possible.
